Growing Spaces

Inspired ideas for family interiors

April 11, 2012

A pause for Easter

So the last bits of skirting board may not have found their way onto the walls yet, and if you look closely there are plenty of places where the paint needs touching up, but the arrival of Easter meant that work on the ground floor could pause while we enjoyed living and socialising in the space.

That is, after all, what it’s all been about. It’s been about creating a space that works for us as a busy family. An organic space that we can mould to different occasions. But most of all, a space for us to enjoy each other’s company.

Just one more spoonful mummy?
Eggstreme concentration
Testing the new extending table
A perfect family dinner

Oh I love the look on their faces cooking. Your table is very impressive indeed, I am glad you got to use your new space for company so soon.

They were concentrating so hard. Although when it came to the mini eggs, Fonz just kept saying, “Just one more mummy?” and popping another in his mouth!

Ah, now I strive for the perfect home, and get all stressed about bumps and crashes and dirty hands on the walls, and mess. But I keep reminding myself that home is just a place to enjoy the company of friends and family :)Looks like you had a good one

I’ll clear up all the bumps and crashes when they leave for university!

I love the table, just the kind I’d like for big gatherings, actually I’d just like a table as we’ve only got one outside!

We live in a semi-renovated house. It’s hell sometimes, and often the kids splodge their filthy hands on my lovely new walls, but those little marks are what make it a family home, right?!! *holds head in hands*

That wasn’t what I was thinking when, during Easter lunch, I realised one of the twins was drawing all over the white gloss table with black marker pen. I hyperventilated while everyone else washed it off!

Easter is in my books about spending time with family too. And the more, the merrier, true!

Glad you got to enjoy your new space… I’m liking the look of that white carved screen thing, I hope it’s going to featured soon? And feeling the love for your yellow wallpaper too!

Ooh the screen (and yes, I promise I will update the stockist info for everything very soon!).. It was a pre-kids purchase from Lombok but I’ve just checked and they’re still selling it and there’s 35% off at the moment!

This is when you really appreciate all the hard work that’s gone into creating that space by enjoying it with your favourite people

It was so fantastic to be able to enjoy living in the space for a bit without constantly thinking about the snagging!
