We’re basking in such glorious weather at the moment that I just want to spend every waking minute outside. Jobs around the house will have to wait (unless you’re my husband who in the last fortnight has knocked down a bathroom wall and painted our bedroom wall, but more about that another time), while I potter about in the garden and soak up the feel-good warmth from the sun.
When I saw this post on Something I Made, in turn inspired by Nice Kind Of Blue, it was something I really wanted to have a go at myself. Since we moved into our home just over two years ago, the focus for much of the time has been firmly indoors, trying to make the interior space work for us as a family. This is the first year that we’ve both had time to give the gardens, front and back, some much-needed attention. We’ve got veggies and salad growing, and I’ve filled many a pot with beautiful bedding plants. So this summer, I can really say that the cuttings I can take from the garden are down to our own work, not just things we inherited with the house. We’ve still got big plans for our outside space, but right now we’re just out there enjoying it.

Thanks for the link! This is a good idea isn’t it? It’s great to look at all the little details – our garden has really become ours too this year – although I’m also realising how much work it is to keep on top of everything!

Oh yes, definitely. You can’t slack off at all can you?!
