It’s that time of year when my sense of wanderlust kicks into an even higher gear than normal. Everyone I know is busy booking holidays, and I’m no different, sketching out ideas for trips and adventures and trying to work out what we can make work in terms of budget and leave.
This year, we’ve started our calendar of adventures by plugging in a couple of festivals so we’ve got something to look forward to and to work our holidays around.
As long-time fans of multi award-winning family arts festival, Just So, we were gutted to miss the festival last year. We’re beyond excited to make our return to Rode Hall on 16/17/18 August, especially as this year marks the festival’s 10th birthday. The programming promises to be even more special than usual to celebrate this fantastic anniversary, with new areas as well as all the old favourites.
We’re so chuffed to be going back (this will be our 6th Just So) and some epic costume designs are already afoot (read about the Tribal Tournament here) – I’ll update you with news of our tribal choice for 2019 soon!
If you’ve always been tempted to go to Just So, but haven’t made it yet, this is the year to do it. Tickets are selling in record time, so snap yours up now and join us in counting down the days to a magical and spectacular weekend.
We’re also going to head back to Wild Rumpus’s other festival, Timber. We enjoyed our mid-heatwave weekend in the forest so much last July, that all four of us were keen to experience the festival’s second year.
There may be some programme crossover with Just So when it comes to the kids’ entertainment, but the unique range of workshops, seminars and talks offered plenty more besides, and was a real hit with the whole family.
So those two festivals are set in diary, giving me a much-needed boost to help me get through winter. Meanwhile, I’m still working out if we could squeeze just one more festival weekend in. I can’t get enough!
