Easy stag costume: Just So Festival 2017

Combine my stag face paint design with this beautiful and easy stag costume idea from Victoria to join the Stags at this year’s Just So Festival. Over to her to share the instructions… Prancing through the forest the upper crust stags gallop by in their finery. Tweed waistcoats, bustles, wild branches from the forest floor and a flourish of flowers. If fancy isn’t your thing channel Game of Thrones with big fake fur collars and wild branches in your hair! This is a baby and toddler friendly costume as there are no pointy bits but could easily be adapted to suit the older…

Stag face paint: Just So Festival 2017

Next up in our week of costume and face paint ideas for the Tribal Tournament at Just So 2017, it’s those proud and mighty stags. We will definitely be stags one year as you always see some awesome costumes around the festival. Here’s my interpretation of the design of this year’s Tribal head as a face paint idea… I really enjoyed this one – it’s simple and decorative. Here’s how I did it, using a party set of Snazaroo face paints, and a set of Snazaroo brushes: Use a sponge or brush to apply white face paint over the nose and up to the forehead.…

Owl face paint: Just So Festival 2017

Continuing our week of costume and face paint ideas for the Tribal Tournament at Just So 2017, today it’s the turn of the owl tribe. We were owls in our first year at Just So, way back in 2013, and I’ve always had a soft spot for the feathery flock. Here’s my owl face paint, based on the design of this year’s Tribal heads… Again, I used the Snazaroo party set of face paint, and a Snazaroo set of brushes. Use a sponge to go over most of the face in an orange/brown mix, leaving the eye area. Use a…

Easy no-sew fish costume: Just So Festival 2017

Following on from my face paint idea for the Fish tribe at the Just So Festival this year, I’m handing over to Victoria, my brilliant festival friend, and all-round costume queen. Victoria has come up with some fantastically easy no-sew costume ideas for all the tribes, and here she’ll share how to make a shimmering fish mask… If it sparkles, glitters and shines, it’s fishy enough for Just So! The disco divas of the sea, ideas are inspired by bubble wrap tendrils, sequin fabric mermaid tails, fishing nets and seashells. Go on make a splash! To make this fishy sea creature…
