March is all about the camellia in our house. We have a large shrub right outside our back door, and when it suddenly bursts into flower we know Spring has arrived. The twins love spotting the buds and waiting for the first bloom to appear – then it’s an annual tradition to head into the garden with a big bucket of water to make blossom soup/tea/pies.
The vivid pink flowers are a welcome injection of colour after the grey winter days, and I love filling vases with them to pop on surfaces around the house. The pink really pops next to my growing collection of houseplants on the media unit in our living room. It makes me smile every time I see it.
