Crafting essentials from Lotts & Lots
I was totally bowled over by the wonderful creativity shared on last month’s LOVE-themed Create Make Share linky, hosted by myself together with Anthea from Zing Zing Tree and Emma from Kids Craft Room. So many amazing ideas, from kids’ craft activities, to beautiful handmade cards and gifts, to mouth-watering sweet treats. Thanks to everyone who joined in – I had such a fab evening browsing through all the entries.

My favourites from the month sum up what my perfect Valentine’s Day would look like in my dream world. An afternoon tea with coffee sweetened with Jen’s super-cute heart-shaped sugar cubes (mine would need to be made with brown sugar though – I’m fussy like that), munching on delicious cookies baked by Jenny (my twins are also currently obsessed with all things poo, bum and stinky so her cheeky Valentines biscuits would go down a storm in our house). There’d be flowers, preferably in a gorgeous hand-printed posy bag by Katy from Apartment Apothecary, presents tied up with Charlotte from Lotts & Lots’ beautiful homemade ribbon. Then the kids could settle down to make some Valentine’s arrows (cheers for keeping them entertained The Creative Pair) , while I curl up on the sofa with a book, complete with my heart bookmark made by Hannah from Crafternoon Cabaret Club.
If only this was the reality yesterday, rather than keeping two six-year-olds amused all day on my own while my husband slept ready for his nightshift, and I struggled with the world’s most irritating cough. I did get pancakes for breakfast though, so I can’t really complain..
The theme for the coming month’s Create Make Share is ‘green’ – think new growth, Spring-inspired projects, nature, recycling or upcycling. It’s a lovely open theme, so I can’t wait to see what you all share.
