One of the key features in my Henley bedroom makeover at Sharps’ flagship showroom was a gallery wall by the bed, and this was super easy to create. Why a gallery wall? I wanted to draw even more attention to that wallpapered feature wall and make sure the bed was a stand-out focal point in the room. Rather than squeeze it in above the impressive headboard, I decided to hang the pictures above the bedside table, helping to frame the bed and to lead the eye around the room towards the fitted wardrobes on the adjacent wall. Still in France. Still doing daily battle with 3G. I am currently sat in the nearest McDonalds with a strong black coffee so I can get a quick bit of work done, so apologies for the brevity of this post! Living the high life and all that. But I figure that I made the effort to take these photographs before I went away, so it’s worth spending just a bit of time writing the words so that I can get the post published at least and you won’t forget all about me while I’m away. If you’ve been reading Growing Spaces for a while, you’ll know that nothing in our house stays the same for long. I’m constantly changing, tweaking, rearranging. It’s not a seasonal thing particularly, it’s something that I do all the time. I might pick up a new idea from another blog, or from social media or Pinterest. I might have bought a new vase/plant/stool/cupboard that needs a home created for it, or it could be that I just want to embrace the chance to potter around. I find creating a new little display both relaxing and exciting – I’m in the… View Post

Today I’m celebrating the fact that I’ve been brave enough to do something that scares me and I’ve been putting off for ages – I’ve launched my very own brand new YouTube channel! So if you were a fan of the videos I created for the Heather At Home channel in collaboration with housetohome.co.uk, head right on over to subscribe to Heather’s Space, where in my first video I turn an old rusty iron gate into this moodboard for the previously blank wall in my office. Each Thursday I’ll share a new video, from my DIY projects at home, to… View Post
