Still in France. Still doing daily battle with 3G. I am currently sat in the nearest McDonalds with a strong black coffee so I can get a quick bit of work done, so apologies for the brevity of this post! Living the high life and all that. But I figure that I made the effort to take these photographs before I went away, so it’s worth spending just a bit of time writing the words so that I can get the post published at least and you won’t forget all about me while I’m away.
I can’t remember if I told you that I’d decided to invest in a set of String shelving for our guest bedroom, as well as the set I have in my office. Now the office shelves have become more practical, I’m glad I’ve got the shelving in the guest room where I can play around with display ideas. Given my endless addition to houseplants, it’s also useful to have an extra space to house some plants – it’s a nice light spot, so I’ve found that plants thrive there (as long as I remember the spot when I go on a watering mission). I recently planted up this gorgeous ceramic bowl from Rose & Grey with a type of succulent I bought at our local garden centre. It was tiny when I got it, but it’s growing at an incredible rate. I wish I knew what it was called, but my garden centre has a habit of labelling all its succulents with ‘succulent’. Helpful. Anyway, I love the texture of the plant’s shoots against the smoothness of the white ceramic.
We’ve added a new day bed to the guest bedroom (I really need to do another room tour when I’m back in the UK), and I’ve started using the room as a little retreat. I grab a book or a magazine, make myself comfy on the day bed and relish quarter of an hour’s peace (more if I can get it). With this in mind, I’ve kept the shelves muted for a peaceful feel.
Right, I’m clocking out for now. I’m sure I’ll be back at my McD’s desk soon, but until then, au revoir mes amies x
