A pair of luxury slippers are on my Christmas wish-list, but as the colder weather sets in, I need something to tide me over. Not wanting to splash out on my dream pair, I decided that an easy DIY option was the best the short-term solution. This simple hack was achieved using a pair of basic slippers I’ve had kicking around (boom boom) in the bottom of my wardrobe for months (if not years), and some iron-on fabric patches which I think I must have got in a goody bag from an event somewhere. Above you can see the slippers… View Post

Gosh it feels like a while since I got my craft on. Seems that heading back to almost-full-time work takes a toll on the craft mojo, or maybe it’s just that I need to make more effort to carve out some time. I feel like I have lots of projects sort of on the go, but rarely actually get to finish anything, let alone get it photographed to share here. Anyway, this DIY jewellery stand (or jewellery tree?) is something I started way back at the start of the year, but had to shelve when I couldn’t get the individual… View Post

‘How many days ’til Christmas?’ is a question I am asked by the twins about a million times a day at the moment. I downloaded a Christmas countdown app, but then an idea for a quick and easy DIY flip Christmas countdown popped into my head so I put one together the other afternoon. Now we have a flip countdown of sleeps until Christmas, hanging up for the twins to see and change themselves each day. It’s so simple to make and I mostly used materials I already had at home – the only thing I had to buy were the hinged… View Post

Yesterday I shared my Christmas crafting table top for Teri from The Lovely Drawer’s 12 Styled Days of Christmas series, and I promised you’d be able to see the results of my crafternoon. This crafting session was all about giving the humble parcel tag a makeover, and I’ve come up with five different ways you can spruce up your tags using really simple materials. [Blanket stitched edging] I’ve given the tag on the top left an update with blanket stitching all around the edge using black embroidery thread (here’s a tutorial I recommend if you don’t know how to do… View Post

This post is rather out of sync I’m afraid – it should really have been posted back at the beginning of December but it was such a scrabble to even get a calendar sorted in time, that posting about it fell to the wayside. This calendar is another one inspired by this year’s Ideal Home’s Complete Guide To Christmas and was dreamt up by the wonderful Joanna Thornhill – you can see her post about it here. I nabbed Joanna’s cones after the photo shoot, and chose a spot high enough that the twins couldn’t pick them off the wall,… View Post
