Urban Jungle Bloggers | #plantselfie

My name is Heather and I have an addiction to plants. Although you guys probably knew that already, right? Now, those gorgeous folks Igor and Judith came up with the theme of ‘plant selfie’ for September’s Urban Jungle Bloggers, and although I’m no huge fan of posing for the camera I couldn’t help having a little fun at the weekend. I chose the newest member of my little plant family to join me for this post – this beautiful string of hearts usually sits on the shelves above my desk but apparently she’s also quite happy perched on my head,…

Treating myself: it’s the little things

I’ve been treating myself recently. Nothing huge – no luxury spa day, designer handbag or posh dinner out – but I’ve been looking after myself in smaller ways. For example, for weeks I’ve struggled to find any socks in my sock drawer that didn’t have holes in. And I finally did something about it. Creative selfies: my olive branch tattoo

I’d just finished telling the twins how amazing I thought I was (I make a point of saying regularly that I think I’m beautiful, that I love my smile, that I’m awesome etc etc so I don’t pass any of my hangups about how I look onto the kids). The Everyday Spruce: 5 ways to make the most of my evenings

You may remember the collaborative project with Sarah-Lou that we named The Everyday Spruce. We posted regularly for the first half of last year, and then the busy summer months hit us. We never managed to find our groove again after that, so the project got shelved. However, Sarah-Lou and I both fancy reviving it, albeit in a much looser form.  It won’t be a full-on as it was before – I may try to post something monthly but we’ll see. It’s more that if and when we think of something that fits, we’ll blog about it. Here’s a little…

Wafting around in my dressing gown

We’re off camping tomorrow, and my new kimono from Verry Kerry is most definitely coming with me. Instead of doing the morning walk to the toilet block in my pyjamas, I’m looking foward to wafting across the field in my gown. And my wellies. And probably an umbrella, but hey, in my mind I’ll still look all goddess-like. The kimono arrived a couple of weeks ago, just before we headed off for a gorgeous weekend up in a house in Derbyshire with extended family. The weather was a bit hit and miss but we were gifted a couple of absolutely…
