New love: my fiddle leaf fig (ficus lyrata)

As birthday presents go, this was a parcel that was hard to beat – a huge box, with a few tantalising leaves poking out of the box – inside was the most gorgeous fiddle leaf fig tree (ficus lystrata). It was a gift from my lovely mother-in-law (she sourced this beauty from The Palm Centre), and I was over the moon because I have wanted to add a fiddle leaf fig tree to my plant family for absolutely ages. Urban Jungle: Living and Styling with Plants book review

Trust me when I tell you that Urban Jungle: Living and Styling with Plants by Igor Josif and Judith de Graaff (the founders of Urban Jungle Bloggers) is an absolute joy to read. Kitchen plants | Urban Jungle Bloggers

This month, Igor and Judith asked all the Urban Jungle Bloggers out there to show off the plants that live in our kitchens. My kitchen window sill is like my little plant nursery – it’s where my babies or poorly plants live – it’s a spot that gets plenty of light, and it’s right behind the sink so when I’m washing up everyday it means I cast my eye over these little friends to check how they’re doing. Unfortunately my window sill isn’t that photogenic, so I moved a selection of these babies onto my kitchen table to take some…
