Inspired ideas for family interiors

{Toy storage} Use garden planters for toys

One of my top tips for toy storage is to be creative and to put things to different uses, so when I spotted these garden hanging baskets (ok, the baskets in the above shot may not actually be hanging baskets but I reckon they could be!), and garden wall planters being used to store toys I was immediately inspired.

Since I saw this image of toys in flower wall planters I’ve been wanting to give the idea a Growing Spaces makeover – if these finally make their way into the twins’ bedroom or playroom they will most definitely be spray painted in bright shades. I’m tempted to put one on the wall above each of the twins’ beds for them to keep the collection of toys and books that they insist on having in bed with them. Apparently all the storage a bedside table offers is simply not enough to satisfy a hoarding toddler.

What a good idea, reminds me of using spice racks for books – think this would also be useful in the kitchen/larder!

Oh yes, spice racks for books. I may have to add that to my list of storage ideas…

What a great idea, I think I’ve need about 50 baskets per child to get all their teddies off the floor though.
I love you site, as someone who lives in a rented property making it look your own can be a nightmare, your site gives loads of inspiration.
    Thank you, Amanda.

I love the idea of spray painting them and it would be ideal to have next to their beds, my two would love that. I may have to pinch this one.
