Styling the Seasons: October

Styling the Seasons October | Growing Spaces: Styling the Seasons, by Apartment Apothecary and Lotts and Lots :
“Reflect the change of seasons and show those changes in your own home, by styling any surface (shelf, dining table, mantelpiece) with something you like to reflect the new month and what it means to you”

Ok, so I’m cheating a little because these shots for this month’s Styling the Seasons aren’t taken in my own home, but it was our home-away-from-home for three days back at the beginning of October when we stayed at Côté Bohème in Normandy. The first Instagram shot I took when we arrived was of the gorgeous posy of flowers in the cabin. Picked from the Provence-inspired garden, I love the shot of hot orange against the muted greens and greys that the cabin is painted in.

The little corner with its antique side-table, topped with a classic French linen cloth complete with embroidered initials, next to the window – a view of the lush garden through the linen window dressing – perfectly encapsulates the peace and tranquility we enjoyed on our stay there. We saw Autumn arrive before our eyes, and enjoyed some of those perfect Autumn days that make me so adore this season – crisp, bright days full of vibrant, warm colours.

As soon as I saw this I thought it must have been done in France – it’s just unmistakeable! This is so beautiful and the way the light falls on the table is just perfect. Definitely one of my faves this month xx
