As I make the journey to Parliament Tattoo to see Rebecca again (I’ve got that excited/nervous butterflies-in-the-tummy New Tattoo Day feeling), I’ve realised that I never actually shared the last tattoo I got from her. This is my sycamore seed tattoo which I got back in the autumn. I chose a sycamore seed helicopter because I have such strong memories of them being everywhere when I had the twins. With their birthday in early September, I can remember the footpaths being covered with seeds while I pushed my tiny babies miles in their buggy – the only way I could… View Post

2017 sees a big change for our household, as I have a new job and will go back to work full-time after seven years freelancing from home. It feels like the right time – the twins are happy and settled at school, I’m keen to get my teeth into a new challenge, and the job I’m starting is flexible in terms of my hours and working from home. While I’m excited about this new chapter, I’m under no illusions that full-time working is going to be a bit of a shock to the system for all of us. I juggle… View Post

Trust me when I tell you that Urban Jungle: Living and Styling with Plants by Igor Josif and Judith de Graaff (the founders of Urban Jungle Bloggers) is an absolute joy to read. Whether you’re well along the path to plant addition, or don’t have a clue where to start, this book delivers inspiration and advice in abundance. And I’m not just saying that because it features five photographs by yours truly, honest (although I can’t tell you how thrilling it is to see my pictures in a book for the first time!). The book is broken down into three main sections…… View Post

One the main features of our garden makeover (full reveal coming this week, I promise) is the DIY fire pit. We’ve developed such a love of cooking outdoors on our camping trips that a fire pit at home just seemed like a natural choice. It’s been a real winner because we didn’t quite get the garden makeover finished in time for the summer, so the fire pit has meant we can enjoy cooking and eating outside even now the evenings are chillier. We’ve been experimenting with lots of new fire pit recipes, so when I got the chance to try out the Gardeco Movo… View Post

These creepy crawly Halloween treats are so gross that I actually felt a bit squeamish about touching them, but the kids (unsurprisingly) thought they were totally cool! Icky, slimy worms peeping out from a pot of dirt, this is a quick, easy and fun DIY sweet treat to put together for visiting guests over Halloween. All you need is some Oreos, jelly worms (or I used jelly snakes with their heads cut off), chocolate sauce and cupcake cases. Crumble up the Oreos to make the soil and fill a cupcake case. Half bury a jelly worm so that its head and tail are… View Post
