Stylists’ tricks for a perfectly dressed bed

This is the last in my series on the relaxed country Henley bedroom makeover I worked on with Sharps at their flagship Baker Street showroom, and today I’m focusing on the main focal point in the room – the bed. As the largest piece of furniture in the room, the bed is the star of any bedroom, so it’s important to make sure you use that visual space to really highlight the area. Don’t the beds in hotels and showrooms always looks so perfectly dressed? There are some really simple steps stylists and designers use to create this luxurious look, and…

Creating a reading nook with Sharps fitted furniture

When I first visited the Sharps flagship showroom on Baker Street, there was an empty space between the two spacious fitted wardrobes in the Henley set. And the V-loft at Hotel V Frederiksplein was by far the most stylish place we’ve ever stayed. We aren’t natural hotel guests. Even before having the twins, we were always more inclined to book a self-catering option over a hotel, but the V-loft offered a great compromise. Hotel V is spread along a block of 19th century apartment and office buildings on Amsterdam’s Frederiksplein. The lofts are just around the corner from the main hotel, with their…

Spooky murals for Halloween walls

The twins spotted these funky Halloween wall murals over my shoulder when I was on my laptop and thought they were super cool, so I couldn’t resist sharing them with you too. Created by Murals Wallpaper, these graphic spooky designs are a great way to create an eerie but stylish look for Halloween. In fact, I actually like the designs and colours so much I reckon they’d be great for kids’ bedrooms year round, but if you wanted them up just for your Halloween celebrations, then there’s self-adhesive paper available, so you can easily remove the paper once fright night is over.…
