Due to the recent arrival of a puppy (sooo exciting, will share pictures very soon), I’ve had to put aside any ideas of making a DIY advent calendar this year. Luckily I have plenty stored away from previous years to fall back on as there’s no way I’m going to give up our family tradition of daily Christmas advent activities (and the kids wouldn’t let me, even if I wanted to!).
I’m going to re-use the DIY copper advent calendar that I originally made in 2014 (pictured above). It’s my favourite of all the advent calendars I’ve made, and luckily it’s the one the kids love the most. You can click through for the full tutorial, and I thought I’d share a couple of my other advent calendars again here in case you fancy some last minute inspiration!

If you want some ideas of the kind of activities we pop inside for each day (these range from a super-simple word search or colouring sheet to going out to buy our tree, or a trip to the Panto), you can download last year’s pdf list of advent activities.
And for something even easier as time is tight until 1 Dec, here’s a round up of some easy printable advent calendars, and here are 25 more ideas for DIY advent calendars.
Right, now I need to get our advent activities for 2017 planned, and get that copper advent calendar down from the loft.
Oh and I’ll be back with a proper puppy introduction later this week, so pop by again soon!
