So, as I mentioned briefly in yesterday’s post, voting for this year’s Amara Interior Blog Awards #IBA17 closes THIS FRIDAY at 5pm. As always, I have left it until the eleventh hour to beg for your votes, but I am nominated for Best Craft Blog and I would be really thrilled to make the final shortlist. In a bid to win you over, I thought I’d do a super-quick round-up of my five most popular craft posts over the last year. Here goes… I made these compact Plywood bedside shelves back in February for our guest bedroom and I have plans to make… View Post

One thing I’ve wanted from the moment we bought Algie the campervan is one of those tacky floral garland lei things that campervan owners hang from their rear view mirrors. And then the van had rear windows and a rear view mirror, but Ben dropped the bombshell that he didn’t want a lei hanging in the van. Some weeks later I have made an executive decision that his aversion to a… View Post

Gosh it feels like a while since I got my craft on. Seems that heading back to almost-full-time work takes a toll on the craft mojo, or maybe it’s just that I need to make more effort to carve out some time. A while ago, a friend messaged me to ask wha I keep in my interior stylist’s toolkit that I take with me on photo shoots. As I sent her back my long list of styling kit essentials, I thought it would make a great post on Growing Spaces, and so here I am, eventually sharing it with you. Not only is this a great checklist of things to take on a shoot, but everything in it is useful for small DIY or craft projects at home, too. The above is my current wish-list, including some of the key items I wouldn’t be without:… View Post

Right, something a bit out of my comfort zone today (actually, most things feel out of my comfort zone at the moment, but that’s another story), to announce a workshop, hosted by me, where you can make a wall hanging like this one. I’ve been working on an exciting project with 91 Magazine and West Elm, which you’ll be able to see in the new AW issue. To celebrate this issue, 91 Magazine is hosting a curated pop-up event at West Elm’s flagship Tottenham Court Road store from 17-20 November. I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be hosting a two workshops on the first day. Workshop… View Post
