This year was our fifth adventure with Just So. Half of me can’t fathom how quickly those years have flown by, the other half can’t imagine a year without the Just So Festival knitted into the fabric of our family life. Five years in, I know my way around, I recognise the same volunteers, the same festival goers, the same costumes. We’ve got our festival rhythm down pat, but that feeling of magic, of being swept up in a glorious weekend of pure joy, has never faded. I still have those skin-tingling moments when you suddenly look around you and… View Post

Bee face paint done, now it’s over to my lovely friend Victoria, who’s finishing up our week of Just So creativity with her fantastically easy bee costume. Be the eccentric Toad of Toad Hall or one year we witnessed a frog member in a full body green lycra suit with only pin holes for eyes. Hopping mad if you ask us! To make these fun google eye frog eyes and matching web hands you… View Post

Ribbit ribbit! The frog tribe are jumping into our week of Just So Festival tribal tournament face paint and costume ideas today. This energetic tribe is always easy to spot at the festival, with some truly awesome costumes. Using a Snazaroo party pack and a Snazaroo set of brushes, here’s how I created the frog face paint idea, based on the beautiful tribal head for this year’s festival. Instructions: Paint the main area of the face green using a sponge (I mixed my own shade of green using the Snazaroo green and a bit of white, otherwise the green was… View Post
